When it’s time for a change

Change. It can be such a challenging word. Change can either feel right or it can feel wrong in sense of timing, work load, spinning plates, life and more. Not only in your personal life but it’s similar in the work environment.

I left my previous employer in the early winter of 2013. And while it was absolutely the best thing I could ever have done for myself, it took guts to walk away. To look a job for life in the eye and say no thanks, we aren’t the best fit as you’re making me unwell.

Starting my own business also took guts and a massive leap of faith. But I did it.

Although, I’m fully aware just how daunting it can be

Go with the flow and let the changes in!

This is something I’ve been navigating for years now and I’m happy to say most of the time I’ve gone with the flow. When I look back to where I started I don’t even recognise that person anymore. I began with reiki and now I no longer practice either form. It’s not the right fit for me these days.

I’ve developed my own connection, energies I work with and path I tred rather than following anyone else’s.

Have I had wobbles along the way?

Of course I have I’m only (mostly) human. I’ve done all the things I suggest you don’t :

  • comparing myself to others and finding myself lacking
  • offering what everyone else does so I didn’t stand out
  • repeating what I’d been taught without thinking it through

and a lot more. You can imagine I’m sure.

If something isn’t flowing, feels stuck or worse I’m beginning to resent it then into the bin it goes and I change the script. I have no issues dropping modalities, offers, sessions and even groups on social media. It can sound a bit counterintuitive to close down and dissolve things that appears on the surface to be doing well. But it’s only looking that way from the outside in. It can feel very different to the person doing the work. Because who shares that part of what they are doing? Well apart from me.

A case in point

Many moons ago I offering oracle card readings for people. They did very well and seemed, from the feedback, to be pretty accurate. But I began to get a bit despondent when a booking came in as they took so much time and energy. Then the resentment came in. When the very last booking came in (which I did honour incidentally) I made the decision that was it. No more. And I simply stopped them.

I still do free weekly oracle card readings on my main facebook page as the pressure was no longer there. It’s part of my way of giving back and it keeps my hand in working with the decks I adore so much. By giving it up I was able to bring the love of it back in. I’m trusting that that makes sense to you as it does to me.

You have to cut the dead wood back to encourage new growth.

Some changes I’ve already made but not really told you about

Those of you who have been with me for a while will have seen what I do ebb and flow. Things come forward then retreat never to be heard of again. This is me going with the flow in real time and working with the shifts in my own energy rather than fighting against it.

What I haven’t fully gotten to task with is echoing all the changes that I make on social media here on my own website. In my head it’s a more complex “thing” when actually it really, really, isn’t. I have a strange sort of resistance to making the changes here I know are needed to replicate where I am at that very second.

I guess what I’m saying in a rather long winded way is that it’s ok to make changes. It’s perfectly within your control to decide what you will and won’t take further. What’s right for you and what in fairness has gone it’s best, served it’s time and can happily be retired. To let those things go and make space for the new.

It’s going to start to become visible

You will start to see changes here – slowly but I’m breaking down the resistance *wry smile*. But a tad more quickly over on Facebook or even via the newsletter once I get my act together. Pages will vanish, new ones may appear, the Dragon Energy sessions will also be changing /evolving.

I’ve found over the last year in particular my focus has shifted and I’m sitting more and more with the shadow side of things in terms of energy.

Namely helping people navigate their energy, what’s coming up for them. Delving deeper than perhaps they have been before to shift out anything lurking that perhaps shouldn’t be and is keeping them a bit stuck.

Is it easy work? No

Is it worthwhile? You better believe it.

Change is the one constant in life and I decided years back to embrace it rather than fight against it. Doing so has taken me down a few rabbit holes but it’s also shown me where I feel best placed to work. Where I can help people rediscover the tools and strengths they already had. Where I feel happiest which is a bit odd when I look at what that is. But let’s be honest when have I ever followed a predicted pathway?

To get a flavour of what I’m talking about I have a free downloadable PDF explaining a bit about Shadow Work and where I’m heading in terms of how I can help people. It will ask you to join my mailing list to access the document but you can unsubscribe from that if it’s not for you once you’ve got the goodies.

Lets sum up my ramblings in a couple of sentences

  • Change happens to all things.
  • Let go of what has done its time rather than carrying dead weight
  • Go with it and see where it takes you. It can be pretty exciting stuff.
